TARGET RELEASE

The ability to release a drug in a specific portion of the digestive tract.

Liniex Target Release profile is achieved in similar fashion to Liniex Time Release and Controlled Release in that it is a combination of two production parts. The first is when food grade/GRAS Certified ingredients, responsible for slowing the digestion of the tablet, are blended with the active ingredient. The second part is the pressure in which the tablet is produced. Additional ingredients not found in our other two technologies are added to trigger release specific digestive environments. Similar to Controlled release, no burst is present and ingredients are consistently released over a specific period of time. As with Time Release and Controlled Release, adjusting the quantity of digestion slowing ingredients and manipulating tablet pressure allow us to fine tune rate of release and release time. Like our other release technologies, this technology is exact in its release and extremely cost effective in its production and easily replicated every production batch. Total release time for this technology is different than Controlled or Time Release in that it target specific digestive environments and release should be maximized at 12 hours if targeting the large intestine for ingredient release. Target release can be adjusted to 4 hours for stomach and 8 hours for small intestine ingredient release.

RATE OF PASSAGE ASSUMPTIONS

Rate of passage or the term in which an ingredient takes to travel through the digestive tract, can vary between patients. For demonstration purposes the charts contained within this website assume total digestive time from ingestion to elimination is 24-Hours.

UNDERSTANDING LINIEX TARGET RELEASE

A unique delivery system triggered by a specific digestive environment.

Liniex Target Release differs from Liniex Time and Control Release in that it is formulated to release ingredients in a specific area of the digestive tract. Some therapies are absorbed and utilized more effectively in the stomach, small intestine or large intestine and Liniex Target Release has the ability to only release ingredients once introduced to the environment specific to that portion of the digestive tract. Once the tablet reaches the target area Liniex Target Release delivers ingredients in consistent amounts every hour (including initial hour) for a specific period of time generally for the estimated rate of passage time associated with that particular portion of the digestive tract. A slow, consistent release of ingredients can be beneficial by enabling the body to fully absorb the therapeutic dose with potentially less stress to the body and less waste. This release option is of greater benefit than Liniex Time or Controlled Release when a specific area of the digestive tract can absorb and utilize an ingredient better than others. Liniex Target Release can deliver ingredients in consistent amounts in as little as 4 hours or as long as 12 hours.

Chart shown is for demonstration purposes and shows ingredients released with Liniex Time Release over a 24 Hour period. This chart shows release rate with standard/mono layer tablet with a release rate of 24 hours.  This technology can be adjusted to release its complete contents in as little as little as 4 hours up to a maximum of 24 hours.

LINIEX TARGET RELEASE FORMULATION FLEXIBILITY

Combining multiple Liniex Technologies for greater release control.

Formulating options with other Liniex Technologies and multi layer tableting options allow for greater flexibility in release control. Combining technologies in layered tablets allow for separate drug release profiles that can contribute to better efficacy and increased safety. This also can allow for two different drugs or two different formulations combined in one tablet. Liniex Technologies has experience in identifying options specific to your drug release profile to guide you in using our multiple options.
